A Dubuque man charged with first-degree murder has a new trial date scheduled for early next year. Latrell Powell-Moore, 18, is now set to face trial on January 12th in Dubuque County District Court, with Judge Monica L. Zrinyi Ackley presiding.
Powell-Moore has entered a plea of not guilty in connection with the shooting death of 16-year-old JaKory McMillian. The incident occurred in March in an alley between West Locust and Almond Streets in Dubuque. Following the shooting, Powell-Moore was arrested three days later in Marion, Iowa. He remains in custody as the legal proceedings continue.
