On Sept. 5, 2026, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a UTV rollover crash on County Trunk Highway F near Fennimore-Liberty Road in Liberty Township. The reporting party said the UTV was on its side and the roadway was littered with beer cans.
According to the sheriff’s office, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Christopher Easler, 50, of Fennimore, was driving his 2025 Polaris UTV southbound on CTH F when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. He lost control of the vehicle, causing it to tip onto its side.
Easler was not injured. The UTV sustained only minor damage.
During the investigation, deputies observed signs of impairment. Easler was arrested and cited for operating a UTV while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, and possessing an open intoxicant in a UTV.
Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest only indicates probable cause exists to bring formal charges. The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld per Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
