POTOSI, Wis. — A 37-year-old Belmont woman was arrested early Sunday morning after her vehicle left the roadway and struck trees in Harrison Township, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

On Aug. 23, 2026, at 12:51 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash with possible minor injuries on County Highway O. Potosi Fire and Potosi EMS were also dispatched to the scene.

Deputies determined that Jessica Kieler, 37, of Belmont, was driving a 2021 Ford Explorer eastbound on County Highway O when the vehicle drifted off the roadway into the ditch and continued parallel to the road. It then struck a series of trees, went down a steep hill, and came to rest against another tree.

Kieler was not injured. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage.

During the investigation, deputies determined Kieler was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and cited for operating while intoxicated (first offense) and failure to maintain control.

Assisting at the scene were Potosi EMS, Potosi Fire, and Donnie’s Tire and Auto of Dickeyville.

Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest indicates only that probable cause exists to bring formal charges.
