DUBUQUE, Iowa — Ian David Champion, 31, was arrested early Tuesday morning on a series of misdemeanor and felony charges, according to local law enforcement records.

Champion, a white male, was taken into custody at approximately 1:32 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2026, at 36 W. 4th St. in Dubuque. Authorities charged him with:

1.  Providing False Identification Information – False Pretense (misdemeanor)

2.  Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, first offense (misdemeanor)

3.  Failure to Appear – Simple Arrest (misdemeanor)

4.  Public Intoxication (misdemeanor)

5.  Introducing Intoxicants or Drugs into an Institution (felony)

Bond was set at $5,000 and was posted by C. Dannenfelser, records show. The case reference is R 20260057411.

No additional details about the circumstances of the arrest or the status of the charges were immediately available. Champion is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
