DUBUQUE, Iowa — The highly anticipated ECIPA Truck & Tractor Pull scheduled for Saturday evening at the 73rd Annual Dubuque County Fair has been canceled due to weather conditions, fair officials announced.

The event, sponsored by Sherrill Mutual Insurance and originally set for 6:30 p.m. on the track as the featured attraction of Family Day (sponsored by Premier Bank), will not take place as planned. In a Facebook update posted Saturday afternoon, the Dubuque County Fair stated: “Truck & Tractor Pull Update: STAY TUNED… something more weather appropriate to be happening on the TRACK!” 

Officials encouraged visitors not to stay away, noting that the fairgrounds remain open with a full slate of alternative activities. “Don’t worry! Still a good day to come out and enjoy ALL the food trucks, activities, contests, COOK OFF, Beer Olympics, carnival rides, COLD drinks and so much more!” the post continued. 

This comes after weather already forced changes to Friday night’s mainstage concert lineup, when opening acts were canceled and the schedule adjusted for Sleep Theory. 

The Dubuque County Fair runs through Sunday, August 2, at the fairgrounds located at 14569 Old Highway Road. Saturday’s remaining schedule includes family fun day activities, a cook-off, beer Olympics, live music in the Festival Garden, rides, exhibits, and other attractions. Gates opened at 8 a.m., with rides operating under special pricing.
