
DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa — Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal head-on collision Monday morning on Highway 52.
The crash occurred at 9:54 a.m. July 27 at Highway 52 and Double J Lane. According to the Iowa Department of Transportation crash report, a 2022 Ford Escape driven by Margaret M. Bockenstedt, 81, of Cedar Rapids, was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2017 Ford F-250 driven by Bob J. Blake, 51, of Decorah.
Bockenstedt was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt. Her body was transported by Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home.
Blake and two passengers in his vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken by Bi-County Ambulance to MercyOne Dyersville Medical Center. The injured passengers were identified as Cody W. Dostal, 26, of Ossian, and Jeremy K. Andera, 22, of Cresco. Blake and Dostal were wearing seat belts; seat-belt use for Andera was not listed in the report.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Tegeler’s Wrecker and Crane.
Responding agencies included Dyersville Police, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Dyersville Fire, New Vienna Fire, Bi-County Ambulance, the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Dubuque County Medical Examiner, and funeral home personnel.
No further details on the cause of the crash or any charges were released in the initial report.
