DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 50-year-old man was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon after law enforcement executed an outstanding bench warrant tied to a multi-count criminal case involving felony assault, domestic abuse, and protective order violations.

Jason Matthew Nieskes was arrested at approximately 12:27 PM on September 16, 2026, at 770 Iowa Street by Officer K.S. Kauffmann of the Dubuque Police Department.

Court records from Dubuque County District Court show the arrest stems from an active public bench warrant ordered by District Associate Judge Mark T. Hostager on September 15, 2026, and officially filed on September 16 (State of Iowa vs. Jason Matthew Nieskes, Case No. 01311 FECR163664). The warrant was served shortly after by the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department and Dubuque Police.

Sibley County, Minnesota (2022/2023): The Minnesota gross misdemeanor complaint stems from alleged unauthorized text messages sent in December 2022 to an adult female (identified in court filings by initials A.C.) residing in Gaylord, MN, who held an active restraining order against him. 

Following his arrest, Nieskes was transported to the Dubuque County Law Enforcement Center for booking, where he remains held pending further proceedings in Dubuque County District Court.
