DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 39-year-old Dubuque man who is a registered sex offender was arrested Thursday morning on multiple felony charges, including sexual abuse involving a child related by blood and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Aubrey Lee Sanders, was taken into custody at 9:57 a.m. July 30, 2026, at 770 Iowa St. in Dubuque, according to Dubuque Law Enforcement Center records. The arresting officer is identified as Kutsch, D. The case or booking reference associated with the arrest is 2026004606. 

Sanders faces three felony counts:

1.  Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree – Forcible Rape

2.  Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree – child victim related by blood

3.  Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry

Public arrest records list the primary charge as Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree – Forcible Rape. Specific dates of the alleged new offenses were not detailed in available booking or daily bulletin information as of Thursday. 

Sanders appears on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. According to registry data compiled from official sources, he was previously convicted on Dec. 2, 2008, in Tennessee of criminal attempted rape. That case involved a female victim between the ages of 14 and 17. No weapon was reported in connection with the prior offense. Registry details list his date of birth as April 12, 1987, matching his reported age of 39. 

The address listed in connection with the arrest, 770 Iowa St., is associated with the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center / jail facility area, consistent with other recent local booking reports.
