Hazel Green, WI — A Monday morning crash involving a passenger car and a semi-truck in a construction zone on USH 151 resulted in no injuries but caused significant damage to the car.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred at approximately 5:43 a.m. on July 6, 2026, in the northbound lanes near mile marker 5 in Jamestown Township, close to the Hwy 151 & Badger Rd area.

Deputies reported that Susan M. Weidemann, 37, of Dubuque, Iowa, was driving a 2021 Honda Accord northbound when she attempted to use the under-construction Badger Road on-ramp as a passing lane. Weidemann struck traffic cones and then merged right, colliding with a 2021 Freightliner semi-truck and trailer operated by Marquell A. Horton, 33, also of Waterloo, Iowa.

The rear traffic barrier on Horton’s trailer inflicted disabling damage to Weidemann’s Honda Accord, while the trailer sustained only minor damage. Neither driver was injured.

Beidler’s Towing of Dubuque assisted at the scene.

Authorities remind drivers to remain alert and follow construction signage, especially in active work zones where lanes and ramps may be closed or altered.
