DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 28-year-old Dubuque man was arrested Friday evening on multiple domestic abuse charges after allegedly assaulting a victim in a way that impeded their breathing or blood flow.

Alex Jay Marvel,was taken into custody at approximately 6:34 p.m. on July 10, 2026, at Noonan St. He faces two counts of Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury (felony) and one count of Obstruction of Emergency Communication (misdemeanor).

According to arrest records, Marvel was held without bond in the Dubuque County Jail awaiting court proceedings.

Authorities have not released additional details about the alleged victim or the specific circumstances of the incident. This case remains under investigation.
