HAZEL GREEN, Wis. — A single-vehicle crash closed a lane of southbound Highway 151 on the Dubuque Bridge early Tuesday morning, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

At 5:18 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2026, deputies responded to a report of a crash in the southbound lanes of Hwy 151 on the Dubuque Bridge. Units from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Dubuque Police Department were joined by first responders from the Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown First Responders and Dickeyville EMS.

Investigators determined that Gerald Hauck, 50, of Lancaster, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu southbound when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Hauck lost control and struck the concrete traffic barrier.

The crash reduced southbound traffic to a single lane until the scene was cleared. Hauck was transported by Dickeyville EMS to a hospital in Dubuque for treatment of possible injuries.

Assisting agencies at the scene included the Dubuque Police Department, Jamestown First Responders, Jamestown Fire Department and Dickeyville EMS.

Hauck was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
