WOODMAN, Wis. — A 69-year-old Prairie du Chien man sustained minor injuries Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve in the Township of Woodman, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. on County Road C near Pebble Lane. David Hemmer was traveling westbound on his 2006 Harley Davidson when he failed to maintain control while negotiating a curve, causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway and enter the ditch on the south side of the road.
Hemmer was properly equipped for the ride, wearing a helmet, riding jacket, and boots at the time of the incident. Despite the crash, he suffered only minor injuries and declined medical attention at the scene.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report and investigated the crash. Hemmer was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle. His motorcycle was removed from the scene by Milo’s Towing of Prairie du Chien.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the roadway was not reported to be obstructed for an extended period following the crash.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding possible contributing factors such as speed, weather conditions, or road surface at the time of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
