Dubuque, Iowa – Amir Jahad Sutton, 19, of Ottumws Iowa arrested Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:52 p.m. at 2629 University Ave. on a felony charge of Child Endangerment causing bodily injury. 

According to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center daily bulletin, Officer D. Brant responded to the incident. No further details on the circumstances or any involved child have been released. 

Sutton was previously arrested in Ottumwa in January 2026 after allegedly brandishing a handgun during a disturbance at a sports center, facing charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and interference with official acts while armed. 

He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The case is under investigation by Dubuque police, with charges expected to be reviewed by the county attorney’s office.
