DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 38‑year‑old Dubuque man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon on felony theft and criminal‑conduct charges following an arrest at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center.

According to booking information provided by law‑enforcement officials, Jimmy Hernandez, 38, was arrested on a warrant served by the Dubuque Sheriff’s Department at the law enforcement department from complaint filed by the Dubuque Police Department at 770 Iowa St. at 2:16 p.m. on April 16, 2026. He faces the following charges:

  • Theft, 2nd Degree — Credit Card/Automated Teller Machine Fraud (Felony)
  • Ongoing Criminal Conduct — Unlawful Activity (Misdemeanor)

The arresting officer was identified as J.J. Demmer.

Hernandez is expected to make an initial appearance, where a judge will review the charges, set bond, and determine conditions of release.
