LANCASTER, WI – Starting June 1, 2025, the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Southwest Wisconsin in Grant County will distribute Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) checks, offering low-income seniors access to fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. This USDA-funded program supports healthy eating and boosts local farmers by encouraging purchases at Wisconsin’s farmers markets and roadside stands from June 1 to October 31.

Eligible seniors, aged 60 or older (55 for Native Americans) and meeting income guidelines, will receive five $5 checks totaling $25, along with tips for using fresh produce and a list of participating markets. Residents must live in Grant County. A proxy can apply or shop for up to four seniors, provided an Eligibility Agreement form is signed beforehand.

Distribution begins at the ADRC office (8820 Hwy 35/61 South, Lancaster, WI) Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at various meal sites: Platteville (June 4, 11:00–12:00), Boscobel (June 5, 12:00–1:30), Muscoda (June 11, 11:30–Noon), Fennimore (June 12, 11:30–12:30), Cuba City (June 13, 11:00–Noon), Cassville (June 18, 11:00–12:00), Montfort (June 19, 11:30–12:00), and Lancaster (June 24, 11:30–12:00).
