Grant County, WI – On Saturday, September 2, 2023, at approximately 7:44 AM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on USH 151 at Old Hwy Road. The driver, Nolan A. Lamantia, a 20-year-old resident of Lancaster, was traveling north when he fell asleep at the wheel.

According to preliminary investigations, Lamantia’s 2007 Maroon Chevrolet IMPALA LS veered into the median and subsequently jumped the curb, resulting in a single-vehicle collision. He was not injured in the accident.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office personnel conducted a thorough investigation of the accident site, collecting evidence and gathering information to determine the factors contributing to the crash. Initial findings suggest that driver fatigue was the primary cause of the incident.

“We urge all motorists to prioritize their safety and that of others by ensuring they are well-rested before getting behind the wheel, Driver fatigue can impair judgment and reaction time, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. We remind everyone to take regular breaks during long journeys and to report any unusual signs of fatigue to prevent similar incidents in the future.
