Cuba City Wisconsin: A two-vehicle crash at St. Rose Road and STH 80 was reported to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 10:47 pm on July 18, 2023.

Emma D. LaRue (18) of Benton was waiting for a dump truck to unload material onto a paver on St. Rose Road. A construction crew motioned to LaRue to move her Jeep Liberty around the dump truck and continue eastbound across STH 80. The flagger holding northbound traffic allowed a group of stopped vehicles to travel north without informing the work crew. As LaRue’s vehicle entered the roadway, a northbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Julie A. Mowbray (59) of Cuba City collided with LaRue.

Southwest EMS evaluated both drivers. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. The Cuba City Fire Department and Southwest EMS assisted the Sheriff’s office, as did Humphreys Transport and Towing of Shullsburg and SOS Towing of Platteville.
