At approximately 8:48 am on 06/29/23, Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 8796 East Center Rd. for a single-vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Gretchin J. Carroll 58, of Stockton, was operating a motor vehicle westbound on E. Center Road. Carroll lost control of the vehicle and drove off the paved roadway to the right and into the ditch. Carroll’s vehicle struck a culvert tube, causing multiple rollovers. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and rested in the ditch. After being ejected from the vehicle, Carroll was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by Stockton EMS.
Investigations are ongoing into this accident.
