Progress continues on the Northwest Arterial State of Good Repair Project as reconstruction of the northbound lanes from US 20/Dodge St. to Pennsylvania Ave. is now complete. This section is fully open, including the Chavenelle Rd. intersection which is no longer using temporary traffic signals. The Asbury Rd. right turn lanes and crosswalks have also reopened.

Tomorrow, Thursday, June 29, the Northwest Arterial southbound left lane from Asbury Rd. to Pennsylvania Ave. will close to prepare for head-to-head traffic and the final segment of reconstruction.

Then, on Wednesday, July 5, the Northwest Arterial northbound lanes from Pennsylvania Ave. to Asbury Rd. will close and traffic will be shifted to head-to-head in the southbound lanes. The Holiday Dr. signalized intersection will be restricted to a right-in, right-out only configuration.

The Northwest Arterial State of Good Repair project is expected to be substantially completed before school starts in August.

If you have questions regarding the closure or detour, please contact the City of Dubuque Engineering Department at 563.589.4270. Please note: closure dates/times are estimates and are subject to change without notice based on weather and contractor schedules.
