Statement from the Multicultural Family Center

MFC) Board of Directors We who serve on the MFC Board eagerly await the outcome of the Dubuque Community School District (DCSD) investigation of the racist incident caught on video at Hempstead High School. The video reminds us again of how much work still must be done in Dubuque to reduce bigotry and hate. There can be no excuse for any adult to use this racist slur to abuse and demoralize a Hempstead student. We know that many incidents like this go unreported, which makes it even more crucial for us to stand with the marginalized students and families and commit ourselves once more to
dismantling racism in our community.
