On May 8, 2022 at 4:50 am, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the
NW Arterial near Kennedy Rd for debris on the roadway. Deputies arrived on scene and located a single vehicle accident. The Dubuque Police Department and Sherrill Fire and Rescue also responded to assist.

The driver, Blake Winfrey (24 y/o) of Dubuque, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers,-six year old and a seven year old-were transported to local hospitals by ambulance and were transported by a medical flight to University of-Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with serious injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
