There’s been an increased effort by international phone scammers. These short-duration scams attempt to trick you into calling back and racking up unexpected costs.

This scam involves overseas companies relying on people calling the numbers back to see what’s going on in order to make money. They want you to call back. If you do, you will be hooked up to an international line that charges you to connect, plus increased per minute fees.

If you miss a call and receive a + followed by a number, it’s an international call. Don’t call back unless you know who it is.
