For 35 years, you could buy items for a dollar. Now Dollar Tree Inc. made the change in November due to increase transportation, fuel, labor, and merchandise cost to increasing prices in January in its stores. Prices in Dubuque Dollar Tree Stores moved up to $1.25 this past week, according to a employee.

So far customers’ reaction across the country to the price rise overall has not been good, with a sharp decrease in shoppers. Many former shoppers have voiced their opinions and are not happy. On Social Media their been a lot of negative comments.
