A head on accident happened Tuesday around 5:27 pm near Highway 20 west, a half mile of Mitchell Road in rural Elizabeth, Illinois. Deputies on location learned that a vehicle traveling eastbound driven by Kathleen McCall crossed into the oncoming path of traffic, striking an automobile operated by Ronald Tippet head on in the westbound lane . They pronounced McCall dead at the scene. Tippet sustained serious injuries and was transported to Midwest Medical Center In Galena, Illinois, then transferred to University Of Wisconsin Madison Hospital by Air Care 3.
