DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa — Kenkel Lane will close starting Tuesday, October 27, 2026, for a bridge replacement project, according to a Dubuque County road notification.

The closure begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Kenkel Lane will be closed from Millville Road to the dead end, and the road will be completely closed at the location of the bridge work while the project is underway. The work zone covers 1,207 feet.

The old crossing will be removed and replaced with a bridge. The estimated duration of the project is 3 to 5 weeks depending on weather, which would put completion roughly between November 17 and December 1, 2026.

No detour route was included in the county notification, and no completion date has been set beyond the 3-to-5-week estimate. This story will be updated if the county releases additional details.
