PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Oct. 19, 2026 — The Dubuque Fighting Saints closed out a three-game weekend at USA Hockey Arena with a comeback 6-3 victory over the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Under-17 squad on Oct. 18, scoring five unanswered goals after falling behind 3-1 early in the second period.

Gavin Lock led the way with two goals and a career-high three points, including the go-ahead goal at 4:15 of the third period — scored in his hometown. Lock opened Dubuque’s scoring after the U17s struck first just 5:15 into the game, but the Americans seized control in the second period, with Jack Trupiano’s team-leading sixth goal of the season at 5:18 of the frame pushing the lead to 3-1.

The Saints answered on the power play. Max Lind’s goal pulled Dubuque within one — the team’s sixth power-play goal of the weekend, a 50 percent conversion rate on 12 chances across the three games. With 2:52 remaining in the second period, David Blasiak deflected a puck past U17 goaltender Colby Arnold to tie the game 3-3.

Lock’s second goal early in the third gave the Saints their first lead since Friday’s opener. Joseph Covelluzzi and Trevor Theuer added insurance in the final 10 minutes: Covelluzzi finished a rebound with assists from Lock and Olle Därth, and Blasiak set up Theuer’s coast-to-coast tally — Theuer’s first goal of the season.

Därth assisted on each of Dubuque’s first two goals and finished with three assists, capping a seven-point performance over the final two games of the weekend. Special teams tilted the afternoon decisively: Dubuque scored the game’s only power-play goal and killed all four U.S. man advantages. Goaltender Luke Carrithers made 18 saves for his third win of the season; Arnold stopped 34 shots for the U17s.

The win moved Dubuque to 4-6-0-0 (8 points) and dropped the U17s to 1-3-0-0. It salvaged the weekend after the Saints fell 6-4 to the U18s on Oct. 16 and 7-5 on Oct. 17. Merrimack recruit Caden Dabrowski was Dubuque’s standout of the weekend with six points (two goals, four assists) across the three games, according to The Mack Report.

The Fighting Saints return to ImOn Arena next weekend for a home series against the Sioux City Musketeers. Series dates and game times were not verified at publication time.
