Potosi, WI — On August 30, 2026, at approximately 5:49 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on Hwy 35/61 north of Kelly Lane in Paris Township.

Deputies determined that a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Emma Hastings, 21, of Dubuque, Iowa, left the roadway after the driver fell asleep. The vehicle traveled off the right shoulder into a ditch, continued approximately 50 yards, struck a guardrail, and broke about nine posts before coming to rest.

Hastings was picked up from the scene and left without reporting the crash. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed by Donnie’s Towing of Dickeyville.

Jamestown First Responders, Dickeyville Fire, and Dickeyville EMS assisted at the scene.

Contact was later made with Hastings. She reported no injuries and was cited for no insurance, failure to notify police of an accident, and inattentive driving.
