POTOSI, Wis. — On the evening of August 29, 2026, a stolen vehicle report and multiple complaints of erratic driving led Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies to the same white SUV, resulting in an OWI arrest.

At 9:19 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from Angela Udelhoven that her 2015 white Chevrolet Trax had been stolen from a parking lot near the Potosi Brewery in Potosi.

Around the same time, deputies received several traffic complaints describing a white SUV operating erratically in the Potosi area, traveling all over the road and into the ditch.

Deputies located and stopped the vehicle shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Highway 61 near County Road B. The vehicle matched both the stolen Trax description and the vehicle involved in the traffic complaints.

The driver was identified as Sean Soler, 29, of Dubuque, Iowa. Following an investigation, Soler was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of OWI (2nd offense) and taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest only indicates that probable cause exists to bring formal charges. The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld per Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
