DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 26-year-old Dubuque man was arrested twice on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, on a series of theft, forgery, controlled substance and probation violation charges, according to Dubuque Police Department arrest reports.

Tanner Joseph Hittenmiller, a white male, was first taken into custody at 4:15 p.m. at 1261 Thomas Place. He faces the following charges:

•  Theft in the 4th Degree – All Other Larceny (misdemeanor)

•  Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, 1st Offense (misdemeanor)

•  Four counts of Probation Violation (three felonies and one misdemeanor)

Officer B.B. Nugent made the arrest. The incident is listed under arrest report AR 2026005379.

Later that evening, at 9 p.m., Hittenmiller was arrested a second time at 770 Iowa Street. He was charged with:

•  Theft in the 2nd Degree – Motor Vehicle Theft (felony)

•  Forgery (felony)

Officer B.J. Berntgen handled that arrest (AR 2026005814).
