The DaaBIN Store (often simply called the Bin Store) at 4470 Dodge Street in Dubuque, Iowa, was a popular local destination for bargain hunters seeking overstock, returns, and liquidation merchandise, much of it associated with major online retailers including Amazon. It operated as part of a multi-state chain that began in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa, area and expanded through franchises.
Shoppers described the experience as a weekly treasure hunt. Merchandise arrived by the truckload and filled large bins. Inventory was not carried over from week to week; the store closed periodically to restock with fresh goods. Typical pricing followed a declining daily schedule (exact days and amounts varied slightly over time and by source reports): higher prices near the start of a cycle (often around $7–$10 per item on restock/opening days) that dropped to $5, $3, $1, and sometimes a bag-fill special (commonly $10 for a large bag) near the end of the week before restocking. Larger or higher-value items were sometimes sold separately under a “DaaBIGs” or similar category at deeper discounts.
The Dubuque location opened around March 2022 (initially reported near 4482 Dodge Street) and later moved next door into the larger former NAPA Auto Parts building at 4470 Dodge Street to accommodate higher customer capacity during busy periods, especially weekend openings when lines could form. It was noted as wheelchair-accessible with handicap parking available. The store accepted cash, cards, and contactless payments. Customer reviews frequently highlighted the fun of the dig, friendly staff, variety of goods (home items, electronics, clothing, toys, and more), and strong value.
Ownership of the Dubuque site changed in early 2025 when Darrin and Brenda Dennis took over. Brenda had previously worked as a floater/trainer/manager for the chain. The couple expressed enthusiasm for continuing the treasure-hunt model for regular customers.
Permanent Closure
On or around August 29, 2026, the store announced it was permanently closed. The Facebook announcement cited “circumstances beyond (the owners’) control,” described the decision as difficult, and thanked customers and staff. Local reporting from the Telegraph Herald confirmed the closure of the 4470 Dodge Street location. The broader DaaBIN company continues to operate other locations in Iowa and additional states.
