…A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 AM CDT
FOR CENTRAL JACKSON AND CENTRAL DUBUQUE COUNTIES…

At 817 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Mud Lake Park to Massey to near Fulton, moving east at
55 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include…
Dubuque, Asbury, Bellevue, East Dubuque, Peosta, La Motte,
Rickardsville, Sherrill, Springbrook, St. Donatus, Centralia,
Sageville, Zwingle, Balltown, Durango, Graf, Otter Creek, South Gary
Owen, Dubuque Regional Airport, and Rockdale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage across eastern Iowa. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy
structure and stay away from windows.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature’s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
