Dubuque County, Iowa — July 28, 2026

Motorists traveling in rural Dubuque County are advised of ongoing and changing conditions related to the Higginsport Road paving project.

Part 1 (now concluding)

Higginsport Road from Fischer Road to McCarthy Road (approximately 2.38 miles) has been under construction since Monday, July 6, 2026. This segment remained open to traffic throughout the work. The Part 1 phase is scheduled to conclude at 7:00 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Part 2 (now in effect)

Effective today, July 28, 2026, a new section is closed:

•  Higginsport Road from Bernard Road to Curoe Road, and

•  Curoe Road from Higginsport Road to Highway 151.

Drivers should plan alternate routes and expect delays. Full details are available in the official Dubuque County road notification for Part 2.
