DUBUQUE, Iowa — An 83-year-old Dubuque man was cited Saturday morning on four misdemeanor traffic charges after authorities say he failed to yield to pedestrians.

James Arthur Weitz was arrested at approximately 6:30 a.m. on June 13, 2026, at 770 Iowa St. on two counts of Failure to Yield to Pedestrian Right of Way, one count of Failure to Obey Stop or Yield Sign, and one count of Failure to Maintain Control, according to arrest report AR 2026000656. Officer T.M. Kaiser made the arrest.

The incident occurred in a downtown area with pedestrian traffic. No injuries were reported in the available records.

Weitz’s case will be handled in Iowa District Court for Dubuque County. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
