DUBUQUE, Iowa — Local authorities are continuing their investigation into a shooting that occurred this past weekend in the Jefferson Middle School neighborhood.

According to the Dubuque Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Althauser Street following reports of gunfire.

Preliminary investigation indicates that shots were fired during a physical altercation between individuals. Fortunately, police have confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection with the event.

As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made. However, investigators have stated that they have identified leads and that criminal charges are likely to be filed as the investigation progresses.

This incident marks the fourth case of shots fired with criminal intent investigated by Dubuque law enforcement so far this year.
