Galena, IL (May 27, 2026) – The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office announced today the results of its Memorial Day 2026 “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign, which aimed to boost seat belt compliance and enhance roadway safety during one of the year’s busiest travel weekends.

Over the holiday enforcement period, deputies issued 6 seat belt citations and took additional actions against other traffic violations that compromise public safety. The campaign underscores law enforcement’s ongoing commitment to reducing preventable injuries and fatalities on county roads.
