Bloomington, WI – A two-vehicle rear-end collision occurred on Highway 35 just south of Hying Road in Patch Grove Township on Friday morning, May 22, 2026, with no injuries reported.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 7:56 a.m. Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a report of a two-vehicle crash on northbound Hwy 35.

Investigation Details

Adam Mergen, 41, of Bloomington, was operating a 2022 Ram 2500 pickup truck northbound on Highway 35. He had come to a complete stop in the travel lane, waiting for southbound traffic to clear so he could make a left turn into a private driveway.

At the same time, Katrina Perkins, 33, of Cassville, was also traveling northbound in a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. According to the report, Perkins did not immediately notice Mergen’s truck stopped ahead of her. By the time she saw the stopped vehicle, she was unable to stop in time, and the front of her van collided with the rear of Mergen’s pickup truck.

Vehicle Damage and Towing

Perkins’ minivan sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Mergen’s Ram 2500 pickup truck sustained only minor damage and was able to be driven away under its own power.

All occupants were properly restrained with seatbelts and no injuries were reported.

Citation Issued

Katrina Perkins was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Proof of Insurance. No other citations were mentioned in the initial report.

Scene Assistance

B&M Auto and Towing out of Bloomington responded to the scene to assist with vehicle recovery.
