Sherrill, Iowa — Dubuque County will start Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) resurfacing on Finleys Landing Road on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.
The project covers 3.09 miles from Balltown Road north to the dead end at Finleys Landing Park. The road will stay open, but traffic will be restricted to one lane during daylight hours, with a pilot car and flaggers directing vehicles.
Work is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks, depending on weather. Drivers should plan for delays, especially midday. Those heading to the park for camping, boating, or fishing are advised to allow extra time or seek alternate routes when possible.
The project aims to improve ride quality and safety on this rural route serving homes, farms, and recreational traffic. Motorists are urged to slow down, watch for equipment, and follow flaggers in the work zone.
