Dubuque, IA — Ryan James Nadermann, 37, of Dubuque, was arrested Friday, May 15, 2026, and charged with Threat of an Explosive or Incendiary Device (Class D felony) and Driving While Barred (misdemeanor).

According to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center, officers arrested Nadermann around 2:18 p.m. at the 2900 block of Jackson Street. The primary charge stems from Iowa Code §712.8, which prohibits threats involving explosive or incendiary devices that could endanger people or property. No actual device is required for the felony; a credible threat suffices.

Nadermann is being held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond for the felony threat charge and a $2,000 cash bond for the driving while barred charge, for a combined total of $12,000.

He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Court appearances, including initial appearance and bond review, are expected in the coming days through the Iowa District Court for Dubuque County. Updates can be monitored via Iowa Courts Online or the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center’s public portal.
