Dubuque, Iowa — A 59-year-old Dubuque man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly assaulting someone while displaying a dangerous weapon and causing bodily injury.

Ricky Ronnell Hobbs was taken into custody around 6:09 p.m. on May 11, 2026, at 1950 Central Ave. He faces two misdemeanor charges:

•  Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon

•  Aggravated Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Mental Illness

Details of the incident, including the identity of the victim and the specific weapon allegedly involved, have not been released by authorities. The arrest was made by Officer C. Randl.
