DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Dubuque County Secondary Roads Department has announced a full road closure on Prier Road for a culvert replacement project, scheduled to begin Thursday, May 7, 2026.

The construction zone will span a 2.38-mile section of Prier Road, from the intersection with Olde Hawkeye Road to Black Hills Road. The road will be completely closed to through traffic at the specific repair site, located just north of the intersection with Olde Hawkeye Road, for the duration of the work.

Work is scheduled to commence at 8:30 AM on Thursday, May 7. The estimated duration for the repairs is one day, dependent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to plan for this closure and seek alternative routes.

The Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these necessary infrastructure improvements are completed.
