Important notice for drivers in Dubuque County:
Then Rd will be fully closed today, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (and possibly tomorrow, April 30) due to contractor drilling/boring work at the bridge over Curran Branch.
Details:
• Location: Then Rd, approximately 500 feet south of the northern N Cascade Rd intersection
• Affected section: 621 feet (full road closure at the bridge)
• Duration: 1–2 days, daytime hours only (weather permitting)
• Work: Bridge-related drilling project
The road will reopen outside of active work hours each day, but expect no through traffic during the daytime closure.
Please plan ahead:
• Use alternate routes via other county roads connecting to N Cascade Rd
• Allow extra time if your regular commute or farm route uses this area
• Watch for detour signs and construction equipment
This short-term project is part of Dubuque County’s 2026 bridge maintenance efforts to keep our local infrastructure safe and reliable.
Safety reminder: Slow down, obey all signs, and give crews plenty of space.
