DUBUQUE, IA — Local law enforcement responded to a weapons-related call on Wednesday night that resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Dubuque resident.

At approximately 8:47 PM on April 22, 2026, officers with the Dubuque Police Department were dispatched to the 9212 block of Allen Drive. Following an initial investigation at the scene, authorities took Tyler James Ernst into custody.

According to preliminary reports filed by Officer M. J. Goedken, the incident involved the discharge of a weapon that resulted in damage to property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the discharge.
