HAZEL GREEN, Wis. — On July 18, 2025, at approximately 10:32 p.m., a Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 in the Township of Hazel Green for a speeding violation. The driver, identified as Jacob Lucas of Hazel Green, was operating a 2020 Lincoln Aviator.

During the investigation, the deputy determined that Lucas had recently smoked marijuana, leading to his arrest for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), 1st Offense. Further inspection during the arrest revealed that Lucas was in possession of brass knuckles, a concealed firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is referring charges against Lucas for possession of a weapon while intoxicated by drugs and possession of THC. Authorities have noted that individuals arrested or referred for charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and an arrest indicates only that probable cause exists to pursue formal charges.

In accordance with Wisconsin Statute §950.04, the names of victims and witnesses related to the incident have been withheld.
