Dubuque, IA – July 15, 2025 – The Port of Dubuque Marina is gearing up for its annual Lighted Boat Parade, set to dazzle spectators on Saturday, August 9, from 5 to 11 p.m. The marina is calling on boaters to register for this vibrant community event, themed “Retro Rewind,” encouraging participants to deck out their vessels in styles inspired by their favorite decades, from the groovy 1970s to the neon-charged 1990s.

The free, family-friendly event kicks off at 5 p.m. at the Port of Dubuque Marina, offering a host of activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy live music by Marzipan Mailbox from 5 to 10 p.m., savor local flavors from food trucks like Pulido’s Tacos, The Hangry Hobo, Hibachi Time, and Freddie’s Popcorn Company, and explore a cash bar. Kids will have a blast in the free play zone, featuring inflatables and activities hosted by the City of Dubuque’s Rec-n-Roll trailer. As the sun sets, the highlight of the evening begins: a mesmerizing parade of illuminated boats gliding along the Mississippi Riverwalk.

Boater Registration Details

The marina is seeking boaters to join the parade for a $50 entry fee per vessel. Registration, open until Monday, July 28, includes a range of perks:

• A commemorative t-shirt for the boat captain
