A Dubuque woman, Kristina Josephine Ruggirello, has been sentenced for a domestic abuse assault charge. According to court records, Ruggirello pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Assault – General, a simple misdemeanor, after initially being charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Display or Use of Weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The charge stemmed from an incident on February 2, 2025, where Ruggirello allegedly used a bat in a domestic abuse assault. However, the charge was amended as part of a negotiated plea deal.
On February 18, 2025, Judge Mark T. Hostager sentenced Ruggirello to 20 days in jail and fined her $105.
