DUBUQUE, IA – March 27, 2025 – Austin Goodman. of Dubuque is scheduled to face a jury trial on November 18, 2025, at 9:30 AM in Dubuque County District Court. The involving multiple charges stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred on March 3rd and March 5th, 2025.
According to court documents, Goodman faces the following charges:

Count 1: Interference with Official Acts – Firearm, a Class D Felony. This charge reportedly occurred on March 3, 2025.

Count 2: Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, a Serious Misdemeanor, also allegedly occurring on March 3, 2025.

Count 3: Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, a Serious Misdemeanor, also stemming from the alleged events of March 3, 2025.

Count 4: Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor, also related to the alleged incident on March 3, 2025.Count 5: Contempt – Insolence Behavior Before Court, a charge of Contempt of Court, which allegedly occurred on March 5, 2025.

The case is being presided over by Judge Michael Schubatt The Dubuque County Attorney’s Office is expecpectef to file the charges and indicate that law enforcement encountered Goodman, at the Historical Federal Builfng on West 8th Street during a a Dubuque City Council meeting and on March 3rd, and the situation allegedly escalated to involve interference with official acts involving a firearm, the possession of a dangerous weapon while being ineligible to do so, and an assault on a person in a specified occupation. Additionally, he is charged with the possession of marijuana. Two days later, on March 5th, Goodman allegedly engaged in insolent behavior before the court, leading to the contempt of court charge.

Court records indicate that the defendant has waived their right to a speedy trial.
