Late this afternoon into early tonight, a rapid accumulation of snow is anticipated, mainly north of I-80. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for counties along the Highway 20 corridor, from Dubuque and extending eastward. Late tonight into early Saturday morning, locations along and south of Interstate 80 may experience a brief period of freezing drizzle, potentially resulting in a thin layer of ice.

For the days from Saturday through Thursday, mixed precipitation and snowfall are anticipated on Saturday and Saturday night, with accumulations possible.

A cold air mass is expected to expand into the region on Sunday night and persist until at least the middle of next week. Wind chills of 15 to 30 degrees below zero are anticipated for certain nighttime and morning periods during this period.
