All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

DUBUQUE, IA — February 11, 2025 — Dubuque police arrested 21-year-old Mario Ordonez-Gabriel on Tuesday morning following allegations of third-degree sexual abuse involving a female child under the age of 13, authorities confirmed.

The arrest occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. at 526 Rhomberg Ave, after an investigation led by the Dubuque Police Department. Ordonez-Gabriel faces charges of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, a Class C felony under Iowa law, which pertains to sexual acts involving a victim at least four years old but under 12, with a perpetrator four or more years older.

Officer T.J. Warner of the Dubuque Police Department executed the arrest. The victim’s identity and specific details of the case remain confidential to protect the child’s privacy.

Third-degree sexual abuse in Iowa carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison and mandatory registration as a sex offender upon conviction. Ordonez-Gabriel is currently held at the Dubuque County Jail pending arraignment.
