East Dubuque Illinois – On November 26, 2024, at approximately 12:51 P.M., the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire at 5815 N. Dunn Road, rural East Dubuque, Illinois. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies and first responders discovered notes written by the suspected homeowner in the vehicle parked outside the residence. These notes, along with preliminary investigation findings, indicated that the homeowner may still be inside the residence.

The Illinois State Fire Marshall and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Response Team were promptly dispatched to the scene. After securing the area, the Illinois State Fire Marshall conducted a preliminary inspection of the residence. During this inspection, human remains were discovered within the premises. These remains have since been identified as the homeowner, Harry Holloman, who resided alone.

The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this incident. The community is not at risk, and the Sheriff’s Office requests any additional information from individuals who may have knowledge of the situation to contact them at 815-777-2141.
