The safety and well-being of our children is of utmost importance, and we take any reports of threats against them very seriously. We have been made aware of a concerning situation involving teenagers allegedly making threats to harm and kidnap young children in the Asbury and Dubuque areas. We are urging all parents and guardians to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities. It is our responsibility to work together to ensure the safety of our community and protect our children from harm.
This concern comes from a statement made by a parent, which was shared in a group their statement below.👇
Hello Arrowhead community!
IMPORTANT: Please read and share.
Tonight, we experienced a frightening incident at the park. Five young children, including my own, were there when four older individuals made threats to kidnap them. (I will share pictures of the car and the people involved.)

The kids rushed home to inform my husband and me.
We went directly to the park. My husband, a police officer, approached the individuals calmly to inquire about what had transpired and why they would threaten the children. One young man replied, “because I can!” and then threatened to attack my husband, taking off his shoes and confronting him.

I called 911.
The police from Asbury arrived and apprehended all four suspects, who reside on Queen Street. They shouldn’t be at the park making threats to children.
We chose not to press charges; however, they now have trespassing charges against them.
Please call 911 if you see these individuals; do not engage with them directly.
All the kids are safe at home tonight. Let’s work together to keep our neighborhood secure!
